We have a partnership with the Financial Times newspaper group hosting a “Politics and Foreign Policy” breakfast conference series at Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, D.C.

Our joint FT / Center on Politics and Foreign Relations breakfast conference series is featuring all of the potential 2008 presidential possibilities in both parties as our keynote speakers.  Senators Joe Biden, Chuck Hagel and Bill Richardson have been recent speakers.

We invite journalists from Europe and around the world plus journalists from the United States and ambassadors from EU countries as well as other key decision makers to our breakfast series.

In addition to our series on Politics and Foreign Policy with the FT, we have also put on conferences with leading policymakers on key topics of the day including having Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Senator Richard Lugar presenting an overview of American foreign policy in our conference held at the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Room on Capitol Hill.

And, Lee Hamilton, vice-chair of the 9/11 Commission spoke at our FT / Transatlantic Magazine breakfast series on the causes of terrorism and ways to combat the problem.

Bob Guttman, editor of Transatlantic, the editors of the Los Angeles Times and the editor of the Financial Times took our series to Los Angeles for a briefing with the Los Angeles World Affairs Council discussing the 2004 presidential contest between George Bush and John Kerry.

Transatlantic Magazine is now planning future conferences through the Center on Politics and Foreign Relations.  If you or your organization or group might be interested in working with us on future conferences in your city please contact us by e-mail at rguttman@jhu.edu or by phone at (202) 587-3235.
